"A love letter to The Lancaster Canal. Beautifully realised...I wept, laughed and wet again. Bravo". Frank Santoro, creates of Storeyvillle.

The Lanky tells the true history of the people who built and lived on the Lancaster Canal that used to run from Kendal, in The Lake District, to Lancaster. Using a strict comic and literary structure, the narrative mimics the steady pace of a narrowboat. The Lanky includes stories of navvies, cattle rustlers, skinny dippers and legging it.

Each page uses four hand cut stencils and an airbrush. Each panel keeps to twelve syllables, with each page having sixty.

The Lanky was commission by The Lancaster Canal Regeneration Partnership, with support from Arts Council England
